Monarchs in the Rough has hundreds of participating courses across North America, in locations along the monarch’s migration routes. Each participating course helps more monarchs breed, grow, and make the journey to their overwintering grounds in Mexico and on California’s coast. In addition to providing habitat for monarchs, courses are also raising awareness of the monarch conservation challenge. By joining Monarchs in the Rough, participating courses become a part of a network that is sharing knowledge and experience about best practices for managing monarch habitat and communicating about their efforts to members.
